Comments Off on Camping with a View – Why Rainbolts Hill Campsite is a Hidden Gem Near Newgale BeachIf you’ve ever dreamed of unzipping your tent to the sight of the morning sun, you’re in the right place. Welcome to Rainbolts Hill Campsite – our little slice of coastal heaven just above Newgale Beach in beautiful Pembrokeshire.
Whether you’re a seasoned camper or trying it for the first time, Rainbolts Hill Campsite has everything you need to make your stay relaxed, comfortable, and downright memorable. Plus, we’re dog-friendly, so your four-legged explorer is more than welcome too!
Let’s dive into what makes this place so special.
Location, Location… You Know the Rest
Tucked into the hillside just above Newgale, our campsite gives you the best of both worlds – peace and space with breathtaking sea views, and easy access to one of Pembrokeshire’s most iconic beaches.
You’re less than a 5-minute drive (or a scenic downhill walk if you fancy a leg-stretch) from the beach, and right on the edge of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path – ideal for those long summer walks with a flask of tea and a camera in hand.
We’re also just a short hop to local gems like:
- Solva – charming harbour village with galleries, pubs & coastal walks
- St Davids – the UK’s smallest city with a big heart and even bigger cathedral
- Newgale Beach – perfect for surfing, swimming, and sunsets you’ll never forget

Comfort Meets Camping – Our Facilities
Now, we love getting back to basics, but that doesn’t mean you have to rough it. At Rainbolts Hill, you’ll find luxury campsite facilities to make your stay that little bit easier and a lot more enjoyable.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Spacious, well-maintained pitches for tents, campers, and motorhomes
- Spotless showers and loos (with proper hot water!)
- Washing up area for sandy cups and bacon-frying pans
- Easy access to water and waste points
- Plenty of space to spread out, relax, and enjoy the views
Bring the Dog – They’ll Love It Here
Dogs are not just allowed, they’re positively encouraged at Rainbolts Hill Campsite! With miles of walking, dog-friendly beaches, and open space all around, your dog will be in holiday mode the second their paws hit the grass.
We just ask that you keep them on a lead around the pitches and clean up after them (as any good dog parent would!).

Why Choose Camping in Pembrokeshire?
Camping here isn’t just about the fresh air (though we have that in spades). It’s about connecting with the outdoors, falling asleep under starry skies, cooking breakfast with sea mist in the air, and having the freedom to explore some of Wales’ most jaw-dropping coastline.
In the summer months, Pembrokeshire really comes alive with beach BBQs, puffin boat trips, local food festivals, and golden-hour swims in calm coves.
And Rainbolts Hill is right in the middle of it all. You’re never far from a good pub, a stunning clifftop view, or a surprise dolphin sighting.
Prefer Four Walls and a Roof?
We get it—camping’s not for everyone. If you’re more of a soft mattress and sea-view balcony type, we’ve got some brilliant self-catering cottage options including large group accommodation and sea front apartments nearby, too.
Whether you’re:
- A couple looking for a quiet bolthole
- A family wanting space to stretch
- Or a large group celebrating something special
We’d be more than happy to recommend a perfect local cottage that suits your needs. Just ask!
